Tribal Program Contacts:
The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice
Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC)
is holding a Consultation on the Tribal Set-Aside from the Crime Victims
Fund (Tribal Set-Aside) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 from 2:00 p.m.-5:00
p.m., EST on January 13 and January 14, 2022. Due to the
ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, OVC has determined that it
would be best to host this
event virtually, using an online meeting platform.
We believe that this decision can help us
safeguard the health and safety of all who
plan to participate.
The
Consultation will focus on the outcomes for the FY 2021 Tribal Set-Aside
Victim Services Formula Grant Program, and the potential expansion of the
allowable use of grant award funds to support construction projects in
future FYs, and possible enhancements to the grant application process in
FY 2022. OVC has created a report on the administration of the
FY 2021 Tribal Set-Aside and a framing paper,
which provides relevant background information on proposed
changes to the administration of the FY 2022 Tribal Set-Aside. It includes
questions for tribal leaders’ consideration when preparing their testimony
for the upcoming Consultation. OVC has posted the
report and the framing paper online on our TVSSA page.
Please
register for the Consultation on January
13, 2022 and/or January
14, 2022. If you are
unable to join us for the Consultation, we strongly encourage you to submit
written testimony to OVC at [email protected] by 11:59
p.m., EST on February 4, 2022. If you have questions or concerns about
the Consultation or the Tribal Set-Aside Program, please
submit them to [email protected]
